A Statement From ‘A Hot Set’s’ New TV Editor

A Hot Set recently announced Brooklyn Hollander as the new TV Editor. Hollander will officially start her duties on August 1st, 2023.

As a newcomer to the A.N. Publishing team, Brooklyn Hollander brings experience as a seasoned journalist. Brooklyn has written an open letter to outline her role in cultivating A Hot Set's business of entertainment content.

“Entertainment industry journalism often only provides a limited scope of the experience of people of color in TV and media. It is typically the biggest stars and biggest shows that get highlighted, and a multitude of experiences and stories remain in the shadows. A Hot Set aims to reconcile this by reporting on all the going-ons of POC within entertainment—with a particular focus on the business side.

At its core, good journalism requires just two things—objectivity and truthfulness. As TV Editor of A Hot Set, I aim to ensure that all our writers steadfastly follow such standards while simultaneously encouraging them to generate novel intellectual thoughts. With each day, people of color are making more and more space for their stories in the entertainment world, both in front of the camera and behind, and we intend to continue to seek out and write about these untold narratives.”

A Hot Set presents a range of content covering the business of the entertainment industry for people of color. As the TV Editor, Brooklyn Hollander will oversee and strengthen the editorial team and expand the coverage of entertainment across scripted and unscripted television, content creators, and the gaming industry.
