'A Hot Set's' Resource Portal Highlights POC Live-Theater Troupes
A Hot Set provides a directory of people of color founded live theater troupes in the “Theater Companies” section of the Resource Portal.
The Resource Portal’s “Theater Companies and Groups” showcases a wide range of theater companies and groups across the United States and Canada, offering diverse productions including musicals, dramas, and comedies. Among the featured troupes are the Black Revolutionary Theatre Workshop (founded by Clarence Bayne and Arthur Goddard), the National Asian Artists Project (founded by Baayork Lee, Steven Eng, and Nina Zoie Lam), and the Latino-targeted Borderland's Theater (founded by Barclay Goldsmith). Centering more grossly underrepresented groups we feature troupes such as the New Arab American Theater Works (founded by Lameece Issaq, Maha Chehlaoui, and Nancy Vitale) and Native Earth Performing Arts (founded by Denis Lacroix and Bunny Sicard). Also, The Black and Brown Theatre Company (founded by Emilio Rodriguez and Sam White) is among the select theater troupes featured, that center POC as a collective.
A Hot Set is the premier source for news, features, and reviews covering the business of entertainment with a unique focus on people of color across film, television, theater, gaming, and digital sectors.
