David Nole
Alex Tischer is the Modern Treatise International Editor. With a background in English literature, he honed his editing skills as a Writing Tutor at Wright State University Writing Center and later spent time teaching English as a second language at Northmont High School as a Student Teacher. Alex has also tutored foreign exchange students on all aspects of the English language as an English Tutor.
As a researcher, Alex has written two papers focused on ecocriticism “Painting a White Picture: History of WSU Through Martin Rockafield” (2022)and “A Supposedly Fun Thing I Did for Four Months” (2023). He is also the co-host of ASLE’s ‘Ecocast.’
Alex has further written three theater research papers, “A New Method of Performance: Electricity in Theater from Invention to 1927” (2021), “Revisiting Rent and the Myth of Jonathan Larson” (2022), and “Happenstance: A One Person Show” (2023).
In November 2022, Alex was invited to speak at the 5th Annual Wright State Runkle Woods Symposium in a discussion focused on "Painting a White Picture: History of WSU Through Martin Rockafield”.
Alex graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Wright State University. He also became certified to teach English to people of other native languages. As well as receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree (Summa Cum Laude) and a minor in piano.
As the International Editor, Alex oversees the coverage of international regions such as Africa, mainland Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. As well as the targeted focus reporting on the developments in countries of China and India. Thus, Alex assures Modern Treatise engages in multifaceted three-dimensional reporting on the international regions and nations we cover.
